The New Year...January

Chris is being his stubborn self and still has not come up with any resolutions for the new year. His actual response was that his resolution is to come up with a resolution next year. Oh...what a clever boy!

Since the last post we made we have moved into our new place. Its a cute little place that is two story with hard wood floors down stairs and carpet upstairs. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom all of which are located upstairs. The kitchen is on the small side but has beautiful granite counter tops kitchen and modern looking cabinetry. Of course the kitchen could be a lot bigger especially, since I am always making cupcakes but it is what it is and so I have decided to decorate the kitchen in cupcake decor. Chris seems to be happy with the new place especially because he gets to have an office again even though I am taking up half of it with my desk and craft items. I have been surprisingly making and selling more and more things these days. The most popular things  are the crochet earmuffs, headbands with flower clips, blankets with the crocheted edge and no sew fleece blankets. My spread for the winter craft fairs I attended included a few more little items as well. For the most part I love to do crafty things and being able to sell my items is nice and keeps me going... not to mention great justification on why I have a constant need to go to Joann's or look on Pinterest.

We are still in the process of unpacking and organizing but are constantly working on it. We do love our new place and think its the perfect size for the two of us but we need to get a handle on all of our "stuff" and may need to get rid of what we don't need. Speaking of things we don't need... weight is still slowly but surely coming off but I  need to stay focused and get back on track with Weight Watchers. I think I became comfortable with the program and when the switch to points plus came I thought I could do it without tracking and since my last post I am only 2 more pounds down so I need  stay on track, eat right and most importantly increase my activity. So now that I know what I need to do I just need to actually do it! Chris has been a great support in this and I am so very grateful! Our freezer is stocked with Smart Ones and my mind is stocked with a plan that I need to follow.

Other things that are going on with us... Chris' 31st Birthday is February 3rd and we are inviting some friends and family over for dinner and to come check out our new casa. We are excited to have everyone see the place but it might be a tight squeeze and we will have to work a little harder to get the place in tip top shape before we show it off. That means lots of work in the next week or two to get the place ready. I almost forgot the theme... All things Chris. I thought it was a good entrance into his "30's" and have asked those who come to bring something that reminds them of Chris and I think if everyone does we will have some great laughs!

Something Chris just reminded me of... Today I went to look at my parents new place. (They are moving to a way better location and nicer place) I am super happy for them but it did make me want to move back into a big house where we can spread out and plainly afford it. On the way home I was thinking about this in depth and a thought came to me... We are where we need to be in this moment now. I also think that God is trying to humble us so that we don't take anything for granted. I feel that when we have more, more money, more things, more space, more whatever we tend to take what we have for granted and sometimes we just need to be humbled. We need to get back to our roots and enjoy one another, our little place and all other things will come in time. Currently we are hoping that Chris will find employment relatively soon. If anyone knows of anyone in the electrical engineering field/ construction hiring please let us know!

So happy we are doing this blog and I have kept to my commitment of posting at least 1 blog per month... even though I keep cutting it awfully close ;)

Thanks for listening and checking up on us.

We love you all!!!
